New competition cooperation framework likely to increase and intensify coordination between authorities in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States

On September 2, 2020, competition authorities from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States signed the Multilateral Mutual Assistance and Cooperation Framework for Competition Authorities (Framework), a move that emphasizes the importance of cross-jurisdictional cooperation and the authorities’ commitment to pursuing competition matters even during a global pandemic.
